Dissonance A Capella
During my time at Millikin University, I had the pleasure of being involved in the only mixed voice, student-led a capella group on campus. This group was a highlight of my experience at Millikin University, and I had the amazing opportunity to be the lead recording and mixing engineer on Dissonance’s debut self-titled album.

The Album
Despite the obstacles the group faced during the pandemic, we were still able to successfully record our first studio album. It took some careful planning and clever usage of Millikin’s many practice rooms due to the limitations placed on the recording studio due to the possible transmission of COVID-19. Not only this, but this was a project that truly challenged me as an engineer, mixer, and musician. I had never taken on a project of this scale in my time at Millikin, but I’m so glad that I accepted the task. It was an incredible learning experience and I’m very proud of the final results.
Give it a listen!
Released on most major streaming platforms, this album includes songs from several years of the group’s set lists at the International Championship of Collegiate A Capella (ICCA). Featuring upbeat pop songs from Janelle Monáe and Queen to emotional charts from Jon Bellion, Imagine Dragons, and Billie Eilish, this album is something I’m very proud and certainly worth a listen!
